Did you know that your son or daughter can get health care at the Roosevelt Teen Health Center? The Teen Health Center is located at Roosevelt High School and is operated by Neighborcare Health, a community health center with funding support from the City of Seattle's Families and Education Levy.
The Health Center is staffed full time by Nurse Practitioners and a Mental Health Counselor, providing all the services (and more) that your family doctor provides, and doing so in a teen-friendly setting. These services include the following:
- Mental health counseling
- Medical check-ups
- Routine physicals
- Sports physicals
- Reproductive health care
- Treatment for acute and chronic illnesses
- Immunizations
- Preventive education on tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use, injuries, and violence
The Health Center is open every day during and after school so your child can be seen at a time that is convenient for his or her schedule.
To receive services, you need to enroll your child by completing and signing a registration packet, which includes consent and health history forms. Packets need to be returned to the Teen Health Center and can either be delivered by the student or parent or placed in a secure envelope and mailed to the Teen Health Center at the school (address above).

Support from the Families and Education Levy does not cover the entire cost of the Teen Health Center. If you have health insurance, we ask that you complete that section of the registration form so that we can bill your insurance company. If you do not have health insurance, we would be happy to help you get signed up. All you need to do is indicate that you have no insurance under the insurance section of the registration form, and complete and return the enclosed one-page Medicaid application. If you do not qualify for Medicaid we will help you find additional coverage options. For additional additional information about insurance, please call the Teen Health Center. A staff member can assist both students and families with their insurance needs. Neighborcare Health does reserve the right to contact your insurance agency regarding current coverage.
