Ever wonder why our yearbook is called Strenuous Life? Well, our namesake-Teddy Roosevelt-in April 1899 said, "I wish to preach, not the doctrine of ignoble ease, but the doctrine of the strenuous life, the life of toil and effort, of labor and strife; to preach that highest form of success which comes, not to the man who desires mere easy peace, but to the man who does not shrink from danger, from hardship, or from bitter toil, and who out of these wins the splendid ultimate triumph.'
Roosevelt High School has published a yearbook annually since 1923. Our award-winning full-color publication is distributed in June, to those who order their copies now! Purchase yours:
- Now through the end of October: as part of your Activity Card Combo for $85 (THE BEST DEAL!)
- November 1-30: purchase your yearbook separately for $55.00
Thanks to generous annual donations from the Roosevelt community, students eligible for free or reduced lunch may purchase a yearbook for $30.00. (Donations for this purpose are gratefully accepted.)
On December 3, 2007, the count goes to the printer. All 1,250 copies of Strenuous Life 2007 were sold by the second distribution day last year. Don't take a chance on missing out.
2008 Strenuous Life Graduation Ads for Seniors
Parents, guardians, friends of 2008 Seniors: place your order early for your "Grad Ad!" Send us your favorite photo(s) and message for your graduating senior and we'll design a lovely ad up to half a page for the 2008 edition of Strenuous Life. A limited number of pages will be printed, so get your ad in early. Download the Yearbook - 2008 Graduate Ad Form (PDF) or pick up a paper copy from the Main Office.
If you turn your order in by October 29, we'll send you a proof to review. All Grad Ads orders must be turned in by December 7 to be guaranteed a spot in the book.
